Overview

The Draco tera matrix switch sets new standards in the field of DVI KVM switches.

With its 160 ports the Draco tera offers sufficient resources – even for more complex applications. Due to the implementation of its intelligent and most modern technology the Draco tera becomes a leading role in its class in terms of functionality and usability.

Thus, the Draco tera is equipped with its unique FlexPort Technology. With this technology each I/O port is completely flexible and can be configured as input or output. Therefore, each port can be used as CPU Port or as CON Port (console port) and can be switched in accordance to its requirements. This high flexibility ensures that the Draco tera can cope with each situation. For example, this system supports switching of 120 CPUs to 40 consoles, 150 CPUs to 10 consoles or even 80 DVI sources to 80 monitors – any conceivable configuration that does not exceed the total number of ports is possible.

Other switch solution, present on the current market, only offer a symmetric solution, such as a 160 port switch with 80 input and 80 output ports. With the Draco tera, no valuable port will be wasted.

The handling of the Extender to be connected is also very simple. Once a Draco Extender is connected, it will sign in at the Draco tera interface via clearly defined identification number (ID). Within the system, these devices will be assigned to a CPU or a console and saved permanently. From this point on, it is irrelevant to which ports of the switch this device is connected to. Even if the wires will be interchanged, the switching procedures of the Draco tera will still be managed correctly.

Also, the definition of CPUs and consoles has been simplified significantly. Now, it is possible to determine whether a CPU with three DVI sources and two USB 2.0 sources or a Dual-Head system with one USB 2.0 is connected. When switching such a combined system, all devices will be switched synchronously and matching.

The Draco tera also offers the already known advantages of the Draco major system, such as instant switching between different CPUs. In contrast to IP-based solutions, where a switching operation can take up to 15 seconds, our Draco tera switches within a range of millisecond. Furthermore, the Draco tera also offers the so called Mix & Match function that allows switching freely between Cat X and fiber optic modules. In accordance to that, switching signals from Cat X devices to fiber optic devices is possible as well – offering proper signal transmission at any time.
