IHSE launches Draco tera compact KVM and DVI Matrix Switch
March 7, 2013 - Following on from the success of the Draco tera enterprise, IHSE brings the same level of quality and reliability to the new compact range of KVM and DVI matrix switches. Designed for small and medium-sized installations, Draco tera compact delivers extremely price-competitive solutions for installations not requiring the extended bandwidth, fibre connectivity or modularity of the full Draco tera enterprise system.
Draco tera compact offers versatility and convenience for 16 to 48 totally flexible input and output combinations over copper connection. Like the Draco tera enterprise, Draco tera compact offers the fastest KVM switching available today with no blank screens or delay associated with resynchronisation, giving full and immediate access to source computers from remote consoles.
Draco tera compact offers versatility and convenience for 8 to 80 totally flexible input and output combinations over copper and fiber connections. Like the Draco tera enterprise, Draco tera compact offers the fastest KVM switching available today with no blank screens or delay associated with resynchronisation, giving full and immediate access to source computers from remote consoles.
Based on well-established Gigabit technology, Draco tera compact includes Flex-Port technology for fully automatic, dynamic allocation of input and output ports, with auto-reconnection and hot-swap. Ports can be combined to support single, dual, quad and eight-head computer configurations. It can also serve as a full-bandwidth HD video matrix. Connection to source computers and consoles over Cat X cable and LC fiber is achieved through dedicated interface units, supporting various configurations of Single-Link DVI up to 1920 x 1200, USB-HID and USB 2.0 each capable of transmission over 140 meters away from the switch using copper connections and 10Kms with fiber.
The advantages of Draco tera compact lie in its ability to be configured with additional software modules to meet application requirements exactly, over-and-above its comprehensive core functionality. These include the Draco tera tool, to provide a graphical user control interface, API for bespoke system access and control, SNMP and Syslog management. To support future application expansion, Draco compact units may be stacked or cascaded to expand the number of inputs and outputs available on a single system.
Seamless Mouse Switching provides control of several monitors using a single mouse. The mouse pointer moves seamlessly between the individual monitors eliminating the need for multiple mice on the operator’s desk, and eradicating any possible delay as the mouse reconnects to individual computers.
The Draco tera range
IHSE GmbH was founded in 1984 in Oberteuringen, near Lake Constance, in Germany. In its early years, the company supplied software for industrial automation and technical data processing applications.
Today, the focus of IHSE’s business is KVM extenders, switches and converters. KVM Extenders allow the remote location of computer consoles (monitor, keyboard and mouse) to be located at very long distances from the related computer. KVM matrix switches enable different computers to be accessed through one or more consoles. IHSE’s high end DVI extension and switching solutions are unique in the market place and allow remote control over both copper and fibre optic media.
